Be Impeccable with your Word
Be impeccable with your word. Be honest — with yourself and others. If you promise to do something, do it. When somebody asks you a question, tell the truth. Don’t gossip. Practice what you preach.
Don’t take anything personally. When people criticize you and your actions, it’s not about you — it’s about them. They can’t know what it’s like to be you and to be living your life. When you take things personally, you’re allowing others to control your life and your happiness.
Don’t make assumptions. The flip side of not taking anything personally is to not assume you know what’s going on in other people’s heads, to not assume you know the motivations for their actions. Just as their reality doesn’t reflect your reality, your life is not theirs. Give people the benefit of the doubt.
Always do your best. Your best will vary from moment to moment. Some days in the gym, for instance, I’m able to lift heavier weights than on other days. That’s okay. I do the best I can every time. This is one of the keys to success and to happiness: No matter what you do, do it as well as you can.
Be skeptical — but learn to listen. In other words, don’t believe everything you hear, not just from others, but also from your own internal self-talk. Keep an open mind, but analyze the things you see and hear to see if they actually make sense.
Be encouraging. There are a lot of people out there who want to tell others what’s wrong with their actions, why the things they want to do can’t be done. Don’t be that way. Instead, do what you can (in big ways and subtle ways) to help others achieve their goals.
This is only the first 6 of 43.... Check out full article in which J.D. Roth expresses his core philosophy:
The way we do business is changing fast and in order to keep up, your entire mentality about work has to change just as quickly. Unfortunately, most people aren't adapting fast enough to this change in the workplace, says marketing guru Seth Godin in an interview with the Canadian talk show "George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight" (via Pragmatic Capitalism). According to the founder ofSquidoo.comand author or 13 books, thecurrent "recession is a forever recession" because it's the end of the industrial age, which also means the end of the average worker."For 80 years, you got a job, you did what you were told and you retired," says the former vice president of direct marketing at Yahoo! People are raised on this idea that if they pay their taxes and dowhat they're told, there's some kind of safety net, or pension planthat's waiting for them. But the days when people were able to getabove average pay for average work are over. If you're the average person out there doing average work, there's going to be someone else out there doing the exact same thing as you, but cheaper.
Now that the industrial economy is over, you should forget about doing things just because it's assigned to you, or "nevermind the race to the top, you'll be racing to the bottom."However, if you're different somehow and have made yourself unique, people will find you and pay you more, Godin says. Instead of waiting around for someone to tell you that you matter, take your career into your own hands. In other words, don't wait for someone else to pick you and pick yourself! If you have a book, you don't need a publisher to approve you, you can publish it yourself. It's no longer about waiting for some big corporation to choose you. We've arrived at an age where you choose yourself.

Do Not Become Disconnected.
When you fell everything is going downhill from business to things in life the natural human instinct is to pull in or away from others and hide from the world. But DO NOT.
Everyone goes thru ups and downs but the ones who keep pushing and going are the ones who achieve what and where they want to be. REACH OUT TO OTHERS.
Here are three good reasons to fight your tortoise tendencies when your business hits bottom:
You (and your team) may be in a rut. Entrepreneurs focus, drive hard and hold themselves to high standards. The flip side is that we can be our own toughest critics and run our teams ragged. Before you know it, everyone has lost their mojo. An outside voice can reset this parasitic dynamic and reignite the team. A new person may have some positive insights into the business’ strengths, constructive suggestions, or new areas or opportunities to think about. Either way, an outsider can break the stalemate of group think.
Your next big opportunity could be a coffee away. The truth is that you never know where your best leads are going to come from, period. This is particularly counterintuitive for the analytically minded, high-tech entrepreneurs of my world. We think our leads will come from people who are as well-versed as we are in our specialized technology areas, replete with acronyms no one else understands. Wrong, wrong, wrong. How wrong? After attending a seminar by author Debra Fine, I got a terrific lead on a customer needing some very specialized optical scanning technology – right up our alley -- for a fellow entrepreneur in…the furniture business. Corporate furniture. Go figure.
The world is not going to wait for you. Hiding in your office is not a winning strategy for unearthing new trends. Get out and see what is going on. Some areas of business are being turned on their heads. That’s a frightening prospect for incumbents. But these trends also present enormous opportunities that entrepreneurs can’t afford to miss.
Everyone fails, ironically the ones who fail the most end up being the most successful people. They learn what doesn't work and use that education in their next venture or idea. BE GREAT.

CADILLAC CUE - by GM
This excellent feature makes the instrument panel look like an iPhone App. The way the car screen turns on is like when you turn your laptop or computer on and everything is digital and slides like the apps on an iPhone. I was impressed even though you know it will cost an arm and a leg for the new Cadillac XTS and ATS which will be the first cars to have this hot new feature.

Experts are clueless.
Experts—journalists, analysts, consultants, bankers, and gurus can’t “do” so they “advise.” They can tell you what is wrong with your product, but they cannot make a great one. They can tell you how to sell something, but they cannot sell it themselves. They can tell you how to create great teams, but they only manage a secretary. For example, the experts told us that the two biggest shortcomings of Macintosh in the mid 1980s was the lack of a daisy-wheel printer driver and Lotus 1-2-3; another advice gem from the experts was to buy Compaq. Hear what experts say, but don’t always listen to them.
Found this checking out www.soleboutique.com (exclusive shoe and clothing store in San Antonio,Tx). I was just looking to see what they had new and noticed this quote from Guy Kawasaki's things he learned from Steve Job's.
I believe that most of the rich have no idea what it is like to have been poor but yet still try to make recommendations on what "others" should do. Also, I feel it's true that the rich have more opportunities and ability/ease to just drop a job and pursue a different career. Shoot most don't even have an "actual" job and spend their time doing exactly what they want. But it's not stopping me one bit from believing I can knock down any and all barriers to reach my goals. Persistence. I read an article today on Get Rich Slowly Blog(read it everyday) and it got me thinking like Eker:
Rich people believe: “I create my life.” Poor people believe: “Life happens to me.” (This is HUGE. Every successful person I know is control of her life. Unhappy people are constantly complaining to me how this, that, or the other thing prevents them from doing something.)
Rich people play the money game to win. Poor people play the money game to not lose.
Rich people are committed to being rich. Poor people want to be rich.
Rich people think big. Poor people think small.
Rich people focus on opportunities. Poor people focus on obstacles.
Rich people admire other rich and successful people. Poor people resent rich and successful people. (This is important, too — it seems to hold true among my friends.)
Rich people associate with positive, successful people. Poor people associate with negative or unsuccessful people. (Another important one.)
Rich people are willing to promote themselves and their value. Poor people think negatively about selling and promotion.
Rich people are bigger than their problems. Poor people are smaller than their problems.
Rich people are excellent receivers. Poor people are poor receivers.
Rich people choose to get paid based on results. Poor people choose to get paid based on time.
Rich people think “both”. Poor people think “either/or”.
Rich people focus on their net worth. Poor people focus on their working income.
Rich people manage their money well. Poor people mismanage their money well.
Rich people have their money work hard for them. Poor people work hard for their money.
Rich people act in spite of fear. Poor people let fear stop them. (This is big for me right now. I’ve accomplished most of the goals I set for myself, and need to set some new ones. But I have this nagging fear, because I’m moving into the unknown. Eker says that successful people act in spite of this fear. They move beyond worry, they “fake it til they make it”, learning as they go. Unsuccessful people do nothing at all.)
Rich people constantly learn and grow. Poor people think they already know.
This is one of the coolest new features to come along in a while. I mean literally people everywhere are asking their phone the CRAZIEST questions and the engineers at Apple have really out did themselves. The remarks SIRI responds with are both funny and creative.

Some people just don't have it…
I know it's hard to believe but some people are truly not cut out for certain stuff, whether it's business, careers, or getting anything accomplished. I was once told by one of my friends, "Crump we don't think the same way you do". Still bothers me today but I've come to understand it more. I just didn't want to believe it. Sad to say it changed my whole mind set at the time. Fork in the road to your dreams. Ironic, because I read an article in business insider today about the same topic which led me to write this post. There are usually 3 key factors to a successful entrepreneur:
Tremendous Will
Acceptance of Reality and
Commitment to a "Change or Die" philosophy.
The last one sounds like "Get Rich or Die Trying" a la 50 Cent. Not many have it. I felt like I could and can mold people into that caliber but often times you have to admit your short comings and accept the truth. I wasn't able to do it, no matter how much I tried. It's cool, really, which leads me to something else I had to realize, FAILURE is the Best teacher. I know this and have always applied this but somehow the glitz and glamour of successful people led me to sway to paying more attention to success stories. I really wanted to take everyone I was around to the top so I would look at how such and such built their company and even though I saw people being "cut" and no longer doing business with the company, I paid no attention. No sh*t, like every business, team, and job I've seen this occur still I was blind to the fact. It's almost a necessity but as you probably guessed, I failed. No need to beat myself up because I needed that, I deserved that, and ultimately I learned from that. Everyone fails at something or another, but those dreamers, it leads them to adapt and eventually change i.e. success from failure. Painful but true, the successful cut anyone who stands in the way of survival or progress.

Any advice for someone who has an idea for a business and wants to know how to get started?
There is a great yogi that says, ‘the imagination is God. Faith, dedication, and resilience is God realization.’ Just have faith in your idea and you ain’t gonna starve. You have to have a little courage. You have to take your thoughts and put them into a business plan—then you are on your way. But you gotta do the work. A lot of people have ideas, but ideas without effort are worthless. Resilience, hard work and dedication is what makes those ideas reality. You have to start, have courage, continue down the path and you can’t quit. There is no reason why an imagined idea doesn’t come to work except that you don’t come to work.

The Most Patriotic Thing You Can Do... by Mark Cuban
Make a boatload of money. Pay your taxes. Lots of taxes. Hire people. Train people. Pay people. Spend money on rent, equipment, services. Pay more taxes.
When you make a shitload of money. Do something positive with it. If you are smart enough to make it, you will be smart enough to know where to put it to work.

Google's new, fast, and easy search tool to find cheap plane tickets and pretty much any ticket in your price range. If only someone could figure out how to get every airline to drop them expensive baggage fees.
Yes, another book. But let's be clear it's strictly motivational.
I read this excerpt from businessinsider.com and made it a must buy.
Guard against negativity- from outside and within.
This can be a difficult challenge to overcome at times, because it is often those closest to us—friends, family, and coworkers—who are the ones feeding us negative energy. This may especially be the case if you don't come from a family or peer group of entrepreneurs; you're more likely to receive a lot of push-back from those around you and you might even feel some resentment as you experience success.
You can take steps to effectively offset any negativity you're experiencing, either from other people or from yourself. First and foremost, it's important to think for yourself and stay focused on your business and your dreams. You should certainly be open to others’ feedback and criticism, but only take actual advice from those who have done what you want to do. People with whom you discuss your business idea frequently act like experts—even though they have never successfully created their own company. Just remember that the person with whom you're talking probably isn't qualified to advise you unless he or she has accomplished what you want to accomplish. Their hearts might be in the right place, but always take what they say with a grain of salt.
The new book by the former music exec, and current advertising exec. He is the man responsible for securing some of the most lucrative endorsement deals between corporate america and athletes and artists such as Lebron James, Jay-Z, and Lady Gaga. The beginning starts with an excerpt about when Run Dmc started the whole adidas deal with the shell toes.
The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created a Culture That Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy (Gotham Books), a tome that dissects the cultural nuances that hip-hop culture consists of, and how those same elements have influenced culture on a global scale.
With all the economy and government turmoil going on it's easy to get distracted and loose confidence in your ability to achieve your ideal "Life" but don't let fear put out that fire of your desire. Even with this website, I had a few doubts on why and whether this will inspire me to achieving and I'm finding it is helping and encouraging me to learn, read and do things I didn't think I could accomplish because I "never had the time". Many people will accept fear in disguise with excuses such as "the time isn't right" but I decided I DO NOT want to be one of those people anymore. All of us deal with the dreaded Fear of Failure at one time but those who find a way to overcome failure are the ones I see doing things no one would ever had thought were possible. I read several times that during some of the most drastic times in history some remarkable people were able to make something out of nothing due to just shear commitment. Who says I can't do the same? ...No one, exactly.
50th Law of Power (by 50 Cent and Robert Greene) - Every negative situation contains the possibility for something positive, an opportunity. It is how you look at it that matters.
Read any interesting article today about not having separation between work and what you enjoy doing. It was a great article and basically debunked the expert teachings to develop a place for each. In the sense of "if you love what you do you've never work a day in your life" idea, you should integrate labor and leisure till they are almost indistinguishable. More easily said than done, I know, but the writer, Jon Mead of YEC, encourages individuals to do these 3 steps:
Step No. 1 Ask yourself: What am I deeply passionate about? What could I talk about for hours without tiring, and explore for years without end in sight?
Step No. 2 Ask yourself: What can I offer to the world? Where does my passion line up with what other people need?
Step No. 3 Ask yourself: What’s incredibly easy for me? How does my story make me uniquely qualified to help people with this?
We're already starting to get little hints and access to iCloud on iPhones, iPads and Macs. If you don't have an Apple product...sorry for you. Get out from under the rock! Being that I'm a white iPhone 4 owner you know I'm pretty excited about learning actually using the technology so I've done quite some research on Apple's iCloud. I was introduced a year ago to DropBox by a friend of mine (Kevin) and can say I enjoy the ease of access to my files from any computer or peripheral device. I also look forward to the new iOS 5, I hope the new CEO Tim Cook keeps up the Apple name and succeeds in bringing even more exciting products to life. #iLife
I'm ready for this...Are you? Email username to info@crumpchange.com. Sold my old games to Best Buy's Buy Back program. Gave me over $10 more than GameStop was offering.

Toaster Pop costs 99 cents, and with it, players spread butter, jam and other toppings on toast, which is one of Connor's favorite breakfast foods.
While everyone else (including me) at 15/16 years old was playing video games and being a kid, these two were putting together a 9-figure company called MyYearbook. Guess it's true what everyone says, if I knew back then what I know now, I'd be RICH. Catherine and David Cook, along with their other brother Geoff, created this "retirement check" in a span of 6-years.

Augmentedreality (AR) is a term for a live direct or an indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data. It is related to a more general concept called mediated reality, in which a view of reality is modified (possibly even diminished rather than augmented) by a computer. As a result, the technology functions by enhancing one’s current perception of reality. By contrast, virtual reality replaces the real world with a simulated one.
